The conference will be led by Emma Nohrén (Green Party), who is the Chair of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture.

The conference on circular bioeconomy is being held within the framework of the Riksdag’s part of the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council of Ministers – the parliamentary dimension.

Challenges and solutions on the road to a circular bioeconomy

The agenda includes the question of what role a circular bioeconomy is to play in the realisation of the European Green Deal and what is needed to enable circular business models to develop more easily. At the meeting, the next step in realising the EU’s Bioeconomy Strategy from 2018 is to be discussed.

The conference will be led by Emma Nohrén (Green Party), who is the Chair of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture.

“In circular bioeconomy, we use renewable raw materials from forests, the earth and the sea, instead of fossil fuels and materials. It is important that we get these solutions in place, as our ecosystems are increasingly under pressure. In our conference, not only will we discuss the challenges, but above all we will also highlight good examples and solutions”, says Emma Nohrén.
